The Future Doesn't Have to Be Either/Or

For a long time, I thought I had to choose.

Healthcare professional or nonprofit founder.

Laboratory or advocacy.

The person I was or the person I am becoming.

But maybe life doesn't work that way.

Maybe we get to take pieces of every chapter with us.

Maybe my healthcare career isn't something I'm leaving behind.

Maybe it's something I'm carrying forward into something new.

And maybe that is exactly what Tote-Tally Supported is about.

Taking what we have learned, what we have lived, and what we have experienced—and using it to help someone else.

So, do I renew my medical license?

For me, the answer may be less about whether I plan to use it tomorrow and more about whether I'm ready to permanently close that door.

And right now...

I'm not.

I'm still discovering where this next chapter will take me.

And for the first time, I'm learning that I don't have to have the entire future figured out before I take the next step.

Sometimes, keeping a door open is enough.

And sometimes, the most exciting chapter of your life begins when you finally give yourself permission to walk through a completely different one.

Tote-tally Supported is a grassroots nonprofit organization serving the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. Founded by myself, Brenae Solis, a stage 3C breast cancer survivor, our mission is to support local breast cancer patients by providing thoughtfully assembled tote bags filled with both essential and comfort items for individuals beginning treatment,

We believe that no one should face breast cancer alone. Through fundraising, community partnerships, and donations, Tote-tally Supported strives to ease some of the financial, physical, and emotional challenges of treatment while bringing hope, encouragement, and practical support to those who need it most.

Our goal is to make a positive impact on the mental well-being and treatment experience of breast cancer patients by reminding them that their community stands beside them every step of the way.

Together, we are more than a tote bag-we are a network of support, compassion, and hope. Together, we can make a profound difference in so many lives, one tote a a time!
