Operation: Tame the Bush — The Great Hair Comeback Begins!

Today I’m doing something I’ve been both excited and slightly terrified to do: I’m getting my hair cut and styled for the first time since it started growing back.

And let me tell you…this hair has clearly decided that following directions is optional.

Some areas are super curly, some are wavy, some are growing faster than others, and the whole thing currently has a bit of a “tiny woodland creature living on my head” vibe. It sticks straight up, does whatever it wants, and apparently styling products are merely suggestions.

But underneath the humor, I’m nervous.

I’ve watched this hair come back one little strand at a time, and after everything, it feels incredibly precious. So the thought of cutting it—even just to shape it—is bringing up some feelings. I don't want to lose the progress I've fought so hard to get back.

At the same time, I think it's time to give this hair a little professional intervention.

Because apparently my follicles did not get the memo that we were supposed to grow back evenly.

Some areas are longer, some shorter, and some seem to have their own personal growth agenda. So I'm thinking a good shaping will help even everything out and give me a fresh starting point—so from here forward, we can all grow together like one happy little team.

And then there's the big question…

What am I going to do with it?

I'm thinking a cute pixie. Maybe soft and sassy. Maybe edgy. Maybe embrace the curls. Maybe something completely unexpected.

And possibly…COLOR.

Because if I'm starting from scratch, why not have a little fun with it?

The possibilities are pretty much endless, and for the first time in a long time, I get to decide what comes next.

I'm excited.

I'm nervous.

I'm a little sentimental.

And I'm absolutely prepared to sit in that salon chair and wonder if I've completely lost my mind.

But that's okay.

Sometimes you have to let go of a little length to make room for something new.

The skies the limit from here.

And as for the final look…

The reveal is all in good time. ✂️✨

Stay tuned. This bush is getting a makeover.
