The Roller Coaster I Never Chose
I've always hated roller coasters and managed to always avoid the ride, but this one I was forced to take, with nothing better than faith sitting by my side. It was not my decision for the bar to be pulled down, for me to be strapped in, but I held on for my dear life hoping for the mend.
The ups and downs, the turns and twirls,
a ride that seems to never end.
As the swirls of crazy endless motion, haunts my mind again and again,
This isn't the kind of roller coaster with a final drop.
It's a continuous ride of uncertainty that never seems to stop—
And even when they say it’s over do they really know sure? For their answers are based on trialed facts, or did they need more?
The answer is never definitive.
Science gives us what it knows,
but even science is an educated guess
when it comes to how this story goes.
So now I walk with trepidation and
carrying the lessons this journey has taught me.
Sharing my stories and compassion with others,
So, they don't feel alone and can see more clearly.
I'm not sure why only some are chosen,
to be the "special few."
I may never understand the reason,
but I do know what I will do.
I will honor every one of us because the suffrages are not small-
Whether still walking beside me or now with Angel wings, we indeed, are the bravest of them all!
